The investigation into the lynching of Tarun Kumar during Holi celebrations in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar has intensified, with police arresting four more suspects in the case. With these latest arrests, the total number of individuals taken into custody in connection with the attack has reached six.

The incident took place during Holi festivities earlier this week when Tarun Kumar, a local resident, was reportedly assaulted by a group of people after an argument broke out in the neighborhood. Police said the confrontation quickly turned violent, resulting in severe injuries to the victim.

Kumar was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors attempted to save him. However, he later died due to the injuries he sustained during the attack.

Following the incident, police teams launched an investigation and began collecting evidence from the scene. CCTV cameras installed in the area proved crucial in identifying some of the suspects believed to have participated in the assault.

Two individuals were arrested in the initial phase of the investigation, and the police continued to track down other suspects believed to be involved. The four latest arrests were made after a series of coordinated raids carried out by law enforcement teams across several areas.

Officials said the accused are being interrogated to establish their exact roles in the incident and determine whether additional individuals were involved.

“Multiple teams have been working round the clock to identify and arrest everyone connected with the attack,” a senior police officer said. “We are examining all available evidence, including video footage and witness statements.”

The victim’s family has expressed grief and anger over the incident, urging authorities to ensure swift justice. Family members said Tarun Kumar had stepped out to celebrate Holi when the confrontation occurred.

Local residents in Uttam Nagar have also expressed shock over the incident, saying such violence during a festive occasion has deeply disturbed the community.

Community leaders and social organizations have called for strict legal action against those responsible. Some groups have also urged authorities to implement stronger security measures during major festivals to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Meanwhile, police have stepped up security in the area to maintain law and order. Additional personnel have been deployed, and regular patrols are being conducted to ensure that tensions do not escalate.

Authorities have also appealed to the public not to circulate unverified information related to the case on social media platforms, warning that spreading rumors could disrupt the investigation and create unnecessary panic.

Investigators are currently working to reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the attack. They are also analyzing phone records and other digital evidence that may help clarify the involvement of the suspects.

The arrested individuals are expected to be produced before a court, where police may seek custody for further interrogation. Officials indicated that more arrests could be made if new evidence emerges during the course of the investigation.

The death of Tarun Kumar has reignited discussions around mob violence and the need for stronger enforcement to prevent such incidents, particularly during crowded public celebrations.

As the probe continues, authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring that those responsible are held accountable under the law.
