Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed the success of Operation Sindoor, the government-led multi-party diplomatic initiative that aimed to rally international support against terrorism, calling it a “diplomatic milestone rooted in political harmony.”

At a reception hosted for members of the delegations, PM Modi highlighted how rare it is for a democracy as large and diverse as India to present such a coherent stance abroad. “The global community watched as Indian leaders spoke in unison. It elevated our credibility and sent a strong message: India will not be divided on issues of national security,” he said.

Operation Sindoor was launched amid rising tensions in South Asia and heightened concerns over Pakistan’s alleged support for terror groups operating across borders. The initiative was designed to build a global coalition around India’s narrative, using direct diplomacy conducted by Indian lawmakers representing various political ideologies.

More than 50 Members of Parliament were involved, visiting world capitals including Washington, Paris, Canberra, London, Tokyo, and Berlin. Delegations presented evidence, participated in roundtables, and engaged with civil society organizations to promote India’s anti-terrorism agenda.

BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi, who led the European delegation, noted, “This was not just about talking; we were there to listen as well. Many countries were shocked by the scale and documentation we shared. Our mission made a difference.”

Similarly, DMK MP Kanimozhi, part of the delegation to Southeast Asia, said, “People often think of Indian politics as deeply divided, but on this issue, we were together. It strengthened our case.”

The PM also emphasized that the initiative served as an effective rebuttal to attempts by hostile actors to internationalize India’s internal issues or label its security operations as heavy-handed. By leading with facts, supported by the credibility of democratic consensus, the delegations were able to reframe the narrative.

Foreign policy analysts have applauded Operation Sindoor, calling it a textbook example of “soft power mobilization backed by domestic consensus.” They noted that such outreach has lasting diplomatic benefits, including deeper trust among strategic allies.

PM Modi concluded the session by urging the continuance of such bipartisan diplomacy on key issues. “India’s voice is strongest when it rises above party lines. Let this be a template for the future.”
