World Poetry Day, Romantic  Iridescence  of  Indian  Keats

Jayanta  Mahapatra, Keki N. Daruwalla, Nissim Ezekiel  and Arbind Kumar Choudhary  have flourished  as  the  poets  of  Oriyascape, UPscape,  Bombayscape  and  Majuliscape  in  their  respective ages  of  the  creative writings. As a  keen  ruralscape painter  Choudhary  paints  a  painterly  picture  of  Majuli, one  of  the  most  beautiful  river  islands of the  world  where  natural  beauty blooms  to  its  climax. Majuli is  the  Prayag  of Assam  where  the  junction  of  the Brahmaputra, the  Tuni  and the Swarnasiri  attracts  tourists from all  corners of  the  world  who  take glimpse of  the  roaring  clouds, chirping  birds, flowing  rivers, green trees and  what  not? The  spiritual  message of  the  Satra  makes  life  not only  blissful  but  cultural  too so far its  tenets  are  concerned.

                          His   sensational  sensuousness  puts  many  a  poet under  shame   while  he  versifies  the  quatrain  with  vividness  of  diction, felicity  of  expression, genuineness  of  emotions , abundance   of   natural imagery , graphic  descriptions,  recapturing  the  spirit  of  the   legends   of  India  and  outside   India– all  these and  many more   constitute  his  poetic  genius . His blending of romanticism with classicism , exploration of new and compound words, proverbial proficiency, mythical, innovative iridescence  and medieval magnificence  spread his  poetic fragrance  for  spiritual sanctity of Tom, Dick and Harry in this trouble torn world  where piggish philosophy  has   been   flourishing  by leaps  and  bounds  on  name of prosperity, sanctity and tranquility.  He is  really a globally known Indian English poet  who  has  hoisted up  the  flag of  Indian English poetry up to  global recognition upon which Indian  can be  proud  of themselves. The phrases and racy   style  make  him a  suitor of the poetic world in the same  way the  lover romances with the erogenous  zones of  the  fair sex for   sexual   bliss   on  the tomb.It is the need of the hour to  keep in  tact the ecological  order on  this  earth  if  the  existing generation wishes to  continue  the  race in  the  womb of time.

                            If  Aurobindo is the Milton  of  India, Arbind Kumar Choudhary  is , no doubt ,the Keats  of   Indian  English  poetry . His  Keatsean  sensuousness, flight  of imagination, romantic contents, philosophy of love, nature, suffering and  poetry, pictorial painting, classical traits,  lyrical  outburst  and  subjectivity  prepare  the  crown of  Indian  Keats in the  history of  Indian  English  literature. What  that  makes  him   Indian  Keats  is  his blending  of  western  and Indian  mythology   all  through  his  poetic  works  in  general  and  Love  in  particular.The sensuous  vision , imaginative  poetic  grove, mythical  monarchy, lyrical luminosity, proverbial plenty, phrasal  alluvial  passage, excellent rhymed quatrains,innovative Arbindonean racy style,  Indianised  form of  Arbindonean sonnets   and  various  other  poetic  qualities  make  him   Indian  Keats  in  Indian   English  poetry .

           Love  is  the  religion  of  Keats  and  Choudhary  too  because  most  of  his  poems are  centered  on  a  number  of various    facets of  love, be  it  sensual , devotional  or  spiritual . Even  his    Nature   Poems , Love  Poems,  Melody, and  several  other  poems  peep   in to  the  heart  of  lovers  for  spiritual  bliss   in   life . In Love his   love   becomes  more  beautiful  than  Life’s   beatitude.Love  is   the  fragrance  of  life   that  blooms  only in   perfect  psyche. Love   is   a   hyacinth , a   saving   grace  and , above  all , an  odour  of  sanctity  on this  land  of  duffer.Like   Keats  Choudhary  becomes  highly  sensuous  while  he  paints   a lovely  picture  of  the  erogenous  zones  of the   fair sex  that  tickles  her  suitors  for  sexual  encounter with  her  counterpart .

Both  John  Keats and Choudhary are  the  towering  personalities   of  the  creative  world  who  have  made  the  literary  milieu   fragrant  worldwide.  Both  have  proved  their  literary   heraldry   in  their  respective  ages.  Golden heart  is  common to   both  of   them.  Poetic   sensibility   is  supreme,  poetic thought  is of  high  water mark  and  racy style  is unparalleled. Both  are   the  word  magicians    who  play    with    words  as falcon  plays  with the  sparrow. Both are  spring suitors  and  live  in  the vale of external   bliss through the poesy. Both have   propounded their poetic philosophy for  the  perfection   in  the  poetic  world.

English  literature  has  produced  three  models  of  sonnets  popularly called   Spenserian, Shakespearean  and  Miltonic  sonnets  that  vary  in rhyme  scheme  but   adheres  to   the  rule  of   fourteen  lines  of   the sonnet.  Indian  English   literature  has   also   evolved  fourth   model   of  sonnets   popularly   called   Arbindonean  sonnets  in   the   popular  psyche  of  the  creative  milieu.  Arbindonean  sonnets  are  divided  in to  seven  rhymed couplets  that  completes  the  norm  of  fourteen  lines  of  a  sonnet. Most  of  the  sonnets  bring  to  light  the  capital  idea  and  other  poetic   tools  of  Indian  English  writers  and    writers   of   Indian   origin.His  sensational  sensuousness  puts   many   a   poet   under  shame   while  he  versifies  the  quatrain  with  vividness   of  diction, felicity   of   expression, genuineness  of  emotions , abundance  of  natural   imagery , graphic   descriptions , recapturing   the  spirit   of   the   legends   of India  and  outside  India  and   many  more  constitute  his   poetic   genius  and   make  the  poem  as  delicious   as  the  nectar . Indian  gods  and   goddess – Ram, Sita,  Radha, Krishna, Govind,  Sabri,  Dadhichi,  Urvasi,  Laila, Majnu,  Heer, Rangha, Panchali,  Draupadi,  Soni,  Mohiwal, Shakuntala, Vaman, Trinity, and   several  others  are  equally  fragrant  across  his   poetic  gardens.
