Yogi Adityanath counters bacteria report, says Sangam water is safe for consumption

Yogi Adityanath continued to counter the claims regarding the alleged presence of faecal bacteria in the Sangam water by asserting that the water is entirely safe for consumption. The Chief Minister addressed these concerns in an official statement, reminding the public that the Uttar Pradesh government has always prioritized the health and safety of pilgrims who attend the Maha Kumbh.
Yogi explained that extensive water testing and purification protocols had been put in place long before the start of the Mela. The water at Sangam, he clarified, undergoes routine analysis by environmental and health agencies, ensuring it meets the highest standards of purity. He was adamant in pointing out that these regular checks have not yielded any evidence of contamination.
He also highlighted the fact that the holy waters of the Sangam hold a revered place in the hearts of millions of Hindus worldwide, and they have always been considered a source of spiritual cleansing and physical healing. The notion that this sacred water could be harmful was an attack on the centuries-old tradition, Yogi stated. The CM further assured that the state government was continuing to take proactive steps to preserve the sanctity of the Kumbh Mela and its waters.
